Invitation Ordering Timetable
It typically takes 7-8 days once the proof is approved to print your engraved wedding invitations. They are shipped direct to you via FedEx Ground delivery.
Since most agree that the invitations should be mailed at least six weeks prior to the ceremony, one should place the order at least eight weeks prior to the ceremony if not sooner.
It is not uncommon to order wedding invitations 3 or 4 months in advance of the wedding date. This allows plenty of time for proofs and corrections. One must also allow time for a calligrapher to address the envelopes.
Since dates are now set months (if not an entire year) in advance, it is wise to send a Save-the-Date card to invitees, especially when the date falls within the holiday or summer vacation travel periods.
